Description The Rieger 1a Standard bassoon reed is a great all round reed – good in both the high and low registers. The 1a shape is very popular with reed makers. The sound is a bit brighter than a Rieger 2 shape reed. Orange binding with a blade tip width of 15.5mm and a throat diameter of 9.5mm. The standard reed is for those who play regularly. It gives more projection, a bit more stability and a broader tone quality, but is slightly harder work to play on. Made in Germany by Rieger
